PLEASE READ: You will have 1 month to register for courses after receiving notification of your scholarship. Please wait to apply for funding until you are ready to register.

You will be asked to indicate whether you are applying for funding for 1, 2, or 3 courses. Please ONLY apply for funding for the number of courses you intend to use. You must register for courses and pay your portion within 1 month of receiving your scholarship notification. IREM-LA Scholarships are limited to $1,000 per member.

Please note that unused scholarships, as well as scholarships that result in a fail or incomplete, will result in a one-year waiting period to receive additional scholarships, so it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you only apply when you are ready and able to utilize funding for all the courses for which you’ve applied. Applicants must first apply for scholarship funding from IREM National. They will apply their scholarship awards towards your registration fee directly, so it will save you out-of-pocket costs.

Selection Process

Applications are reviewed by the Scholarship Review Committee, consisting of IREM LA Chapter leaders.

Scholarships are awarded based on:

  • Merit and commitment to the profession

  • Financial need

  • Alignment of goals with IREM’s mission

  • Chapter engagement and involvement

Applicants will be notified within 15 business days of submitting a complete application. Funding is available on a rolling basis until annual scholarship funds are exhausted.

Recipient Responsibilities

Recipients must agree to the following:

  • Use of Funds: Scholarship funds must be used exclusively for approved IREM courses or certifications.

  • Registration Timeline: Recipients must register for their approved course(s) within 30 calendar days of receiving award notification.

  • Funding Distribution: IREM LA will distribute scholarship funds after the applicant has completed the course and successfully passes the exam (proof of completion required).

  • Course Completion: Recipients are expected to complete and pass the course. Failure to complete the course may impact eligibility for future scholarships.

  • Change in Plans: If unable to attend the registered course(s), applicant must notify IREM HQ (getinfo@irem.org) for any changes/cancellations. Please note, IREM’s Course Cancellation Policy applies to all courses, webinars, and exam, as outlined in this link.

  • Professional Contribution: Recipients may be asked to provide a short testimonial describing how the scholarship supported their career development.
