President – Nancy San Pedro, CPM®

Nancy San Pedro is the Director of Commercial Properties for Southern California at Shapell Properties, Inc.  She oversees operations for all commercial properties in the San Fernando Valley, Orange County and San Diego.  Her portfolio is comprised of open air retail centers, office, medical office and mixed use properties.

Ms. San Pedro is also a longtime member of the Institute of Real Estate Management. She has chaired committees both locally and nationally, including IREM Young Professionals, the Programs Committee and the Membership Committee.  In 2014, she was awarded CPM of the Year.  In 2011, she was named Outstanding Young Professional. At the Institute, she teaches Ethics for the Real Estate Manager and Financial Tools for Investment Real Estate. In addition to her IREM leadership roles, Ms. San Pedro is a UCLA Extension Instructor.  She received her MBA from UCLA Anderson where she was a Ziman Center Fellow and her undergraduate degree from Santa Clara University.


Past President & VP of Administration – Eileen Conn, CPM®

Eileen Conn

As a Regional Vice President in the Charles Dunn Real Estate Services corporate office she is responsible for oversight of management of over 12 million square feet of commercial real estate. Eileen also oversees a talented team of property management staff, portfolio management staff as well as handling the business development of Charles Dunn management services.

Ms. Conn has over 20 years in combined experience in property management, portfolio management and asset management of commercial real estate properties. Ms. Conn oversees a staff of talented managers that handle tenant relations, collections, budgeting, financial reporting, CAM billings and management operations. Additionally, responsibilities include project start up and consulting, managing tenant improvements, organizing and implementing vendor contracts, interfacing with clients, and negotiating leases for new and existing tenants.

Before her position with Charles Dunn, Ms. Conn was with CLS, an architectural firm, where she assisted the principal of the firm with day-to-day duties. This experience led her to becoming adept at overseeing construction projects ranging from tenant improvements to new build-outs. Early in her career at Charles Dunn, Ms. Conn was also an on-site manager of a Class-A high rise in downtown Los Angeles.

Ms. Conn is a graduate from Gonzaga University with a B.A. in Philosophy. She holds a California Real Estate Broker License, IREM-LA 2017 President. Ms. Conn is a Certified Property Manager (CPM®), Real Property Administrator (RPA®), and a Facilities Management Administrator (FMA®) and is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC®) .


President-Elect & VP of Membership – Amy Martin, CPM®

Amy Martin

Amy Martin is a senior property manager with The Muller Company, Real Estate Management & Investment. Amy oversees both the management and leasing operations for Westwood Medical Plaza, a three time TOBY award winning medical office building located in the Westwood area of Los Angeles. Amy’s responsibilities include supervision of a management staff of 22, oversees both capital and tenant improvement projects, negotiation of tenant lease renewals, financial reporting, vendor contract implementation all while maintaining excellent landlord tenant relations.

Amy’s work experience encompass nearly 20 years in real estate. Manager positions include The Muller Company, Starbucks Coffee Company, Arden Realty, Inc., Samituar Constructs, Transwestern Property Company and Cushman & Wakefield. Amy has managed a variety of commercial projects which include Torrance Center South, Los Angeles Corporate Center, Westwood Center, and Conjunctive Points in Culver City, Airport Center, 3600 Wilshire Boulevard and a five year period at 6300 Wilshire Boulevard. For a three year period from 2001 until 2004, Amy’s passion for fashion was realized serving as the Senior Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Fashion for Dualstar Central Design Studio – the tween clothing line of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. While never fully leaving real estate, Amy continued real estate sales service by representing several home owners during the real estate boom as a part-time sales agent with House 2 House Realty.

Amy holds the following designations: LEED Green Associate; Certified Property Manager (CPM®); Real Property Administrator (RPA®) and Facilities Management Administrator (FMA®). Amy has a current salesperson license from California’s Department of Real Estate.


Scholarship Chair, IREM Los Angeles Past President, 2016 – Pamela Huning, CPM®

pamPam Huning is the Director of Business Development for Lincoln Property Company.  Her focus is on commercial property management service delivery for 3rd party clients in Los Angeles.  She is focused on sharing the message “National Presence. Local Focus.” to demonstrate the capabilities of the property management teams that take care of the office, retail, industrial, and Transportation Oriented Development projects currently under management.  Previously, she was the Director of Operations for Douglas Emmett where her team oversaw over 17 million square feet of office projects throughout Los Angeles County and Honolulu. Her focus was on team development, tenant service, strategic partnership management and value creation for the assets in the portfolio. Prior to this, she had a 12 year tenure as Asset Services Director with CBRE.  She was responsible for nearly 15-million-square-foot portfolio of office and industrial assets for institutional clients including Bentall Kennedy, CBRE-GI, KBS, Invesco, and Brookfield in Los Angeles, and for Bentall Kennedy throughout the Western United States. Ms. Huning joined CB Richard Ellis in the 2007 merger of Trammell Crow Company. She started her career with Trammell Crow Company as a Senior Property Manager at Corporate Pointe at West Hills, a 1 million square foot Class A multi-building complex in Los Angeles. Prior to joining Trammell Crow Company, Ms. Huning held positions at Charles Dunn Company (Senior Property Manager), Premisys Real Estate Services, Inc. (Accounting Manager and Assistant Property Manager) and Cushman and Wakefield (Assistant Financial Manager) and Charles Dunn Company (Property Accountant).


VP of Programs – Alice Myers CPM®

Alice Myers is a committed professional with 23 years diverse knowledge in the industry and is a broadly experienced operations leader in real estate management. Her operation style and knowledge of construc- tion has enabled her to solely coordinate and supervise major earthquake repairs and overall improvement of the assets for which she has been responsible for.

A strong positive attitude accompanies Alice which has allowed her to succeed in every task she under- takes. Alice enjoys the challenges that new projects offer and is well known for her willingness to “go the extra mile”.


VP of Education – Barrett Stone, CPM®

Barrett Stone

Barrett Stone is a Senior Property Manager with Boston Properties.  She currently oversees 1.2 Million Square Feet of office space in Santa Monica, including Colorado Center, a 15-acre office park.  With just over 13 years of experience in the commercial property management industry, Barrett has managed buildings for The John Buck Company in Chicago to 707 Wilshire, the second tallest high rise building in Los Angeles,.  In addition to her day to day management duties, she has experience in ensuring seamless property acquisitions and dispositions, as well as experience in large project management, including a $13M voluntary seismic retrofit.  A self-starter and goal oriented individual, Barrett has lead two different properties to win the local and regional BOMA Office Building of the Year Award.  In 2012, she received an International Office Building of the year award for Colorado Center.

Barrett is an extremely active member of IREM and BOMA and holds the Certified Property Manager® and Real Property Administrator® designations.  She is a USD Torero Alumnae, holding a degree in Business Administration and International Business.

When Barrett is not managing buildings, she can either be found practicing or teaching yoga.


VP of Communications – Lynne Miller CPM®

Lynne Miller is the Senior Portfolio Manager with Charles Dunn managing office and medical office buildings. Her responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of the day-to-day operations and maintenance including supervision of contracted building staff, reviewing and approving financial reports, preparing CAM reconciliations, creating and maintaining budgets, bidding and managing contracts, managing tenant and building improvement projects, negotiating lease renewals and assisting in the preparation of new leases.

With over 20 years of property management experience, prior to joining Charles Dunn Company, Lynne managed a 1.4 million square foot office building and parking garage in downtown Los Angeles for seven years for Maguire Properties. From 1998 to 2006, she managed several office, industrial and medical buildings in the Greater Los Angeles area for PM Realty Group and Arden Realty, Inc., and a 1 million square foot office building in downtown Los Angeles for Cushman & Wakefield.

Lynne holds the Certified Property Manager®, Real Property Administrator® and LEED® AP O+M designations as well a California real estate salesperson license from the Bureau of Real Estate. In addition, she received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Maryland.


Executive Councilor – Charles Brown, CPM®, RPA®, FMA®

Charles Brown
Charles Brown is currently a General Manager for Morlin Asset Management, LP. In his current position, he handles the Property Management and Facilities Management functions for a 980,000 sq ft property in downtown Los Angeles owned by a public sector entity.

Charles has more than 25 years of experience in both property and facilities management. He started his career as a Facilities Manager for a large insurance company in downtown Los Angeles, and has managed facilities for such industries as insurance, banking, energy, software development, and public education.

As a Property Manager, he has managed numerous buildings, including high rise downtown projects, suburban low rise properties, industrial business parks, and retail sites. His two most notable projects were the City National Plaza (formerly ARCO Plaza) and the Century Plaza Towers in Century City. Both of these projects had more than 2 million square feet of office space, retail space, and significant parking garage operations. His experience includes working for owners, developers, and third party fee management companies.

Mr. Brown graduated from Loma Linda University with a B.A. in Public Address. He holds a California Real Estate license, has earned the titles of Certified Property Manager (CPM®) from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), and the titles of Real Property Administrator (RPA®) and Facility Management Administrator (FMA®) from the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA). He is active in both BOMA and IREM, having served on the board of directors as well as chairing several committees. He is also active in the International Facility Management Association (IFMA).

Charles and his wife Beverly live in San Dimas, California with their four Irish Setter show dogs.


Executive Councilor – Farzaneh Tofighi, CPM®

Farzaneh Tofighi

Farzaneh Tofighi has more than 25 years of experience in managing commercial, retail, industrial and multi-family properties. In her most recent position as Vice President and Senior Trust Real Estate Officer she was responsible for managing assets held in Personal Trusts and Partnerships.

In her years of property and asset management experience Ms. Tofighi has managed mid-rise office buildings as well as large multi-family properties, retail centers and industrial properties. She is experienced in construction and project managements. She has worked for owners, developers and third party fee management companies.
Ms. Tofighi graduated from Tehran University with a BA in English. She also holds a California Brokers License from California Bureau of Real Estate as well as Certified Property Management (CPM) designation received from Institute of Real Estate Management.

Ms. Tofighi is a longtime member of Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). She is very active both at local and national level. Through the years she has held different positions at the local chapter. In 2009, she was the President of the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of IREM. Currently she is a member of the Executive Committee and the VP of Education at the local Chapter of IREM. At the National level, Ms. Tofighi holds the position of Chairing the Instructor and Grader Administration Advisory Board. Also she is a member of the Governing Body of IREM National.

Ms. Tofighi teaches Ethics for Real Estate Managers for IREM LA Chapter. She is a member of UCLA Extension Advisory Board.

Ms. Tofighi is married. She and her husband have two children and three grandchildren.


Executive Councilor – Samantha Thornton, CPM®

Samantha ThorntonSamantha Thornton is currently the director of training and development at Beach Front Property Management, Inc. in Long Beach, CA.

She has worked in the property management field for over 15 years and has experience with lease up, class A, B and C properties, student, low income, section 8, rent control, tax credit and stable assets of varying sizes in Texas and California.

Samantha earned her Certified Apartment Manager certification through the National Apartment Association and her Accredited Real Estate Manager certification through the Institute of Real Estate Management in 2012. She is a licensed real estate sales person in California and is working towards her Certified Property Manager certification through IREM.

She currently sits on the board of the directors with the Apartment Association of Southern California Cities and the executive committee with The Greater Los Angeles chapter of IREM.
