With more than 3,500 earthquake retrofit and renovation projects completed, Optimum Seismic's work includes soft-story multifamily apartments, unreinforced masonry (URM) buildings and tilt-up, non-ductile concrete and steel moment frame buildings.

More than 100,000 soft-story apartments in California, represent a substantial earthquake collapse risk. Sixteen people were killed in the collapse of one such soft-story building, the Northridge Meadows Apartments, during the 1994 Northridge Earthquake. Wood-frame buildings typically built before the mid-1980's and containing parking or retail space beneath one or more stories of residential units.
